Mark 15:35-37

³⁵ When some of the people standing there heard this, they said, “Listen! He’s calling for Elijah!”^[a]

³⁶ So someone ran and soaked a sponge in some sour wine. Then he put it on a stick and offered Jesus^[b] a drink, saying, “Wait! Let’s see if Elijah comes to take him down!”

³⁷ Then Jesus gave a loud cry and breathed his last.
